Food for Thought
A downloadable game
Concerned by the amount of food going to waste, our hero (an aspiring chef) vows to combat this scourge by saving and recycling as much food as possible.
As the hero’s journey is just beginning, they work out of their home kitchen, honing their craft as the endeavour to fulfil their dream. That dream… To run a food truck/restaurant? where they can create all sorts of fantastical delights to show the world what can be done with still good food that is being saved from landfill.

Food for Thought is based on an idea created for Rare & Xbox Game Studios as part of the D&AD New Blood Awards 2021, where it was awarded a Graphite Pencil.
The brief asked entrants to create a game that not only had a positive impact on the player but also one that could have a positive impact in the real world. Choosing to focus my attention on the impact of food waste, I developed Food for Thought.
In Food for Thought, players must complete tasks and save food from going to waste by sharing with other villagers. Through these actions, communities are built up to ensure no one goes hungry.
My hope with Food for Thought was for players to look for opportunities in their local communities to make a difference in people's lives.
